Ramona Africa

I went to see a talk by this woman, Ramona Africa, at a place called flowershop in San Francisco. Ramona is one of two people that survived the 1985 police firebombing of one of the MOVE organization's house in Phillidephia.

Its an incredible story. A powerful example of the officially sanctioned murder and destruction of members of a radical organization.

Don't remember talking about it in school though.

The story of MOVE is one of the most shocking things I have ever heard about as far as those things go. It outraged me when I looked into it. I don't remember hearing about it in school either! In fact it was very hard to come across any information on it at all! It is surprising and not surprising at the same time. It's really cool that you got to see her speak. I guess the bay area is good for things like that.
