Big conference coming up, and this is my contribution to the slide show. Me hard at work going over tape after tape. I like the almost hidden coffee cup in the background.
Currently listening to Aymaran languages from Peru. The recordings have some clipping, sounds like maybe the originals were recorded at too high of levels, or maybe the clipping is from some subsequent dubbing.
Next tape is either Katu from Laos or Viet Nam, I am not yet sure. The tape looks to be in good condition, fairly short. Length really depending on the speed, which I'll find out soon enough...
